Sneak peek of today’s walk. There was exultation (also expletives because the world was too beautiful to keep my hands in my mittens and exposed skin is not happy skin!). This is a crack in the ice. I don’t know what business the ice has cracking apart like this when it’s about 12″ thick, but it did and it’s glorious and I can’t even handle the beauty.
Every time I leave my apartment, I’m ready to be jaded; there must be some limit to novelty in this microcosm of the world, after days of subzero temps.
But that day seems never. The solid ice shifts so much day-to-day. There are things that have surface within the ice, an ebb and flow to it, entire worlds that are either new or I missed on previous inspections.
We are so so lucky.
