So much of what we’re (collectively) capable of is a reflection of our perspective, the stories we tell ourselves.

The UN’s leaked climate report is well within the my estimates. It’s still hard to read and harder still to see so little conversation around it. But for those who haven’t been studying/working on climate change for twenty years, this isn’t necessarily expected news. Even for me, it’s gutting to have confirmation, to face, again, our diagnosis. To expect others to process that as new information and then know what to say or where to start just isn’t reasonable.

2040 isn’t far away. I’m grieving, yes, but I’m also reaffirming my hope, knowing the changes and momentum that I see in every crack and crevice, in every choice we each make. I’m taking today to reflect.
